Earth is the greatest artwork that we know in our Solar System. This gallery shows images of the Earth's surface to demonstrate that this planet is a unique masterpiece of creation (whoever is responsible, is beyond our knowledge).
Since the internet and institutions like NASA, Google Earth and other companies provide satellite pictures of Earth, there are a plethora of images available of landscapes of well known and more often 'uncharted' regions. Regions that now can be explored through these images.
In this gallery we are looking especially for mostly natural structures evolved on the surface of Earth by the usual physical forces of wind, water, gravity, volcanism, temperature, erosion and their imprints on the planet. Most images are chosen because they resemble works of abstract expressionism or surrealistic impressions or similar works of art. There are descriptions to each work, these descriptions are initially hidden to give the viewer the chance to first contemplate the work by itself.
