The very sensitive radio telescope is owned by the United States, and administered as a national facility by the
National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center (NAIC).
The observatory's 305 m radio telescope is the largest single-aperture telescope ever constructed.
The SETI@home program is using the telescope as a primary source for the research.
